How much separation do you need from the tracks preferably?

the standard song format breaks down into the following
guitar.ogg - Guitar rhythm.ogg - Bass / Rhythm Guitar keys.ogg - Keys / piano
drums.ogg - merged Drum Mix if you want to enable full split drums these can be used instead of the merged drums.ogg drums_1.ogg - Kick Drum drums_2.ogg - Snare Drum drums_3.ogg - Cymbals drums_4.ogg - Toms
vocals.ogg - Normal Vocal Mix similar to drums instead of a merged vocals this can be split into vocals_1.ogg - Lead Vocals vocals_2.ogg - Backing Vocals
song.ogg - mixdown of all other song audio that isn't seperated
files are optional so just use what ones that are needed / make sence for the specific song

I found a band called "Locksley" that has a free EP with 3 songs. I PMed them on youtube yesterday, asking if we were able to use them for this game.

I have some "I Fight Dragons" multis ... maybe they'd let us use them

Now, for "Money," I have expert guitar and bass fretted which is insanely difficult to play through. I still need to make it easier on the easier settings still and I also need someone with a drum kit who likes fretting drums to fret the drums for me.
Haven't started on "No One Likes Superman" yet but I have the multis as I said.
I am thinking we should explore the possibility of including the music video for "Money" in order to demo Phase Shift's music video playing capability. What do you think of that?

Well done! *bro fist* To help with organization, make a new topic thread and post any necessary information regarding the artist. (I'm sure you're savvy enough at this point.)

while this is promising, the email does not cover the important part about the multitracks, if the multitracks are available directly from them then that should be fine, if they are from an unofficial source then the email does not clearly state what is to be used, you can't assume they are agreeing to let you use something you aren't supposed to have
ideally they would send multitracks officially then it is a clear exchange of what they are allowing to be used and would confirm the agreement
at the very least you would have to clarify what you have and if that is acceptable (assuming they are not officially sourced), but the former is preferable

I don't know what else you expect besides maybe a notarized contract written on leaves of solid gold. Since anybody can sue anybody in our culture regardless of what any piece of paper anywhere says, even that wouldn't really help much. But IFD are cooler than that. Let's not get silly.

They weren't from any contest, they were sent to me personally directly from the band using their official email address. If you want a formal agreement then write one and I'll send it to the guy. Otherwise, STFU it's fine. Here's the thread where my version of "No One Likes Superman Anymore" is up: dwsk.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=songs&thread=692&page=1
