We would like to include a few songs with the game to enable it to be playable out of the box.
This needs to be original content so if anyone knows any indie bands that would be interested in having some songs in the game let us know

well the criteria would be at least 2 instruments, something not copyright, and made to reasonable quality standard

idk if he's around often anymore, but ask puppetz from fof-ff to use some of his self-made songs?? he's got a couple that are guitar and drums he made in some studio, really cool sounding IMO

Would people be interested in "Saint Louis Blues"? It is public domain. I made a version where I added drums to piano for Synthesia: www.synthesiagame.com/forum/download/file.php?id=1619Perhaps I could arrange this to have instrumentation more appropriate to Phase Shift. Or should I wait for Pro Keys? :-)

I could have my band (like legit real, band) record something and I could fret it...

it needs to be a real song not just a midi file, its a fine charting standard but not for listening to

it needs to be a real song not just a midi file, its a fine charting standard but not for listening to I'll assume this is response to my offer of St. Louis Blues. Yes, I understand that PS needs audio tracks and fretting for each instrument and that all of that is a LOT of work. I posted the link to the MIDI file, which is what Synthesia uses, so those who are interested could hear what I was able to do with drums. I can produce good multi-track audio from a MIDI file with the software and sound samples I have available, something I think most people would find listenable. My concern is whether St. Louis Blues would be something that many (any) in the PS target audience would be interested in playing. No point in doing the work necessary to produce a song that no one cares about.

What is the target date for adding songs to the PS release?
I did a bit of experimenting and I don't think I'd have anything that I think would be up to the standards of PS anytime soon.

as soon as we get some suitable options we'd be looking to add them, so no specific timeframe, just as soon as some good options show up
nothing will be to late to be useful as we can always extend additional songs if we got more than we needed into an official song pack for the game that could be an in game dlc type option that'll download the extras direct to the song folder or something, just depends on what we get to work with

We may still have some songs from the band "Brad sucks" that were used in GZ and for GZ2. They gave us permission to use them and provided split tracks too, we just never got around to putting them in. (we got a C&D around that time)
I may also have a bunch of extra home-made songs from our old forum, I'll check when I get home from work.
