Hello,
I know some people from the GH community, that still play GH3PC frequently, and what they wanted, so they could migrate to Phase Shift, is a better and more specific practice mode.
By better, I mean, being able to adding sections to songs, maybe like the older Rock Band Network songs had 0-10%, 10-20%, etc sections, because what is holding more people that wanna play this game, is being able to practice certain sections so they can FC Harder songs.
Not being able to practice solos = Not getting consistent at them.
I really hope you guys (or guy, I'm not sure how many people are working in this project) add in that main feature, because I already like how being able to speed up and slow down the song works, but a Practice mode without sections is a no-go.
Thanks.

To be honest, I always thought this idea would be implemented first-hand since we could name our notes in EOF.

well when it comes to features we look at how important it is to us personally, then look at how many people out there are wanting it, and weigh it up against the technical issues, then it goes onto the to do list, if lots of people are interested then it gains priority on the list
when it comes to this feature, personally we don't fc songs so practice sections haven't been high on our personal list, but we do understand its useful to the hardcore players. On the forums its actually not been mentioned that much, honestly if the amount of people that went on about vocals were requesting practice sections it probably would have been done already
but as it is, its been sitting somewhere in the upper middle of the pack of things to look into, if there are people not on the forums waiting for it, we don't know that so it doesn't have any effect on our priorities, people who are on the forums and getting involved are the people we know about so will obviously have the most influence
so currently its on the shotlist of things to look into but has never really been pushed forward as a high priority, as from what we have seen there has only been a small interest in it, it has far less technical issues than something like vocals so if there had been that level of interest then it would have been pushed right up. We give people ways to have their voice heard, its up to them to take it

It would definitely help with the harder aspects of gameplay, ie. pro guitar/bass, or complex drum parts.

sure theres no question about its usefulness, just talking about the amount of people that bring it up, its been a low number compared to other things, so if there were more people wanting it than we knew about, backing that request so we could see there was more widespread interest for it would have been the thing to do so we could factor that in when deciding the priorities of things

You guys already provide the option to slowdown or speed up a song to practically any speed. If there was sections in practice mode i'm sure lots more people would play the game cause with that feature you guys would have the best practice mode IMO

I also think it's a good idea. I use practice sections rarely, but with the step up to real drums I'll have to try a lot harder to learn some beats. I think practice sections would be really helpful here - as of right now I start the song and set it to 200% to get to the part that I want.

i wasn't gonna post here cause i've already mentioned it a little too much.. but for what it's worth here's my official post about wanting it as well.. i have always used practice mode if it was available and probably spent more time on it than on actually playing songs.. so for me it makes up almost more than half of the game if you want to see it that way

As a drummer I mentioned an improved beat trainer in another post, a better practice mode would help a lot too!

Looks pretty nice! So the looping capability is a standard A/B repeat system? Will there be an easy way to set the loop start to the beginning of a section and the loop end to the end of a section? That would make it easy to practice guitar training sections and so on.

I'm not sure exactly how the trainers work so I'll need to look into that at some point. But in regards to the sections, you can pick the start and end points. It's not shown on that video but the first click select the start section and the second the end section. If you want to extend the section or tweek it you can just alter the A-B markers manually. So far it seems to work quite nice but in later versions we may add more advanced features. One idea is to be able to save A-B points for quick access. Also a step option which will click to the next notes only when they have been formed correctly. So you can make sure you've formed the correct chords in Real guitar modes.
