I'd let you use my songs, but my songs kind of... suck...
Even if they don't suck to you, most of them have autotuned vocals, and I think that's usually frowned upon on the internet.

But I warn you, I don't think these would make it. The great thing about Phase Shift is that it's community driven, not driven by sales. If somebody want's to chart your stuff, or if people demand for it to be charted, it will be done (eventually). In a way, we're on par with RBN. With Phase Shift and EOF, a charter doesn't have to pay a yearly subscription service to use special authoring software, and end users don't need to pay for the tracks (though I'm working on a system so that you pay for some of the tracks from a few local bands I work with... more on that later when I have a product). The only problem is that we don't peer review like the RBN community and have a wide distrobution/promotion system like Harmonix does. We appreciate your donation!

Hello guys! I heard "you're" looking for songs for your game that could be included. Well I'm working on a new song "composed by myself", it doesn't sound like a MIDI, sound a lot better. I could donate it here to be used for the actual game. Should a send a sample here so "you" can check it out!? As I'm composing it myself, are there any requests how the song should be? Also I was thinking of using three instruments, guitar, bass & drums, if that's cool?

feel free to post a sample its always nice to get an idea of what people are working on
but to clarify the situation, any and all suitable songs we can legitimately use will be eligible as dlc for the game, there is no specific requirement beyond a basic level of production values and suitability to chart to at least one key instrument.
The only selection process as far as songs go is for our current project goal to create a ps setlist, picking out key songs that are most suited to this purpose. In the case of setlist songs we have to consider additional criteria such as variety, difficulty and instrument compatibility.
If we have a great song but it can only be charted to a single instrument it would be better suited as dlc rather than a setlist song, if we have lots of quality songs of the same difficulty or genre then we would need to focus on other songs so the setlist can offer variety and cover a good skill range
We don't really have any specific requests, keys support is nice but no point tacking it on if it doesn't fit the song, just make the song the way you want and we can see where it best fits

Okay! Well here's a sample of the song. It's lacking bass, I'll do that ones the whole song is done. The drums are just beta, so I'll probaby change a lot on them. But the guitar part should be okay! Only one minute done so far... www8.zippyshare.com/v/5769829/file.htmlJust let me know what you think, an honest oppinion. I don't think I'll spoil the song with a keyboard. Ones it's done, you probably want all difficulties on all three instruments.

seems interesting, first 30 seconds reminds me a bit of the original doom soundtrack
my only feedback would be it sounds very clean, i often get an uncanny feeling i get when i hear midis even when they are using nice samples as its just too perfect, i know some software such as sunvox allows people to easily apply randomisation modifiers to notes to give it a more natural feel, just minor tweaks effecting every notes velocity and length seems to really help
but maybe your already planning something like this once you have finished the first pass of getting the song together, so might be too early for feedback like that, but anyway seems like a good start

Thanks for the feedback! I usually tweak notes/chords in a song, especially on the drums, as they sound too computerized when the notes are the same volume all the time. I'll get back here when it's done...

I certainly wouldn't mind taking up arranging it when you're finished! It would just mostly involve making it more "realistic", with additional production too. But only if you want.

Sure, that would be nice. Maybe I'll just focus on composing the song then. How would you do that exactly? I'm using FL Studio with plugins.

I'd be using my own array of plugins and samples, mainly for production value. I have some high quality stuff, so I'd at least hope I can make something that sounds somewhat professional, haha.

Okay! So you don't need the FL file, you need it as a MIDI file then?

Well the thing is, and I'm sure you're aware of it that if I send you the MIDI file. All the "sounds" I'm creating doesn't exist for you then. And I'm composing the song according to how it sounds to me, and that might be lost when sending you the MIDI, or it could be better also. Just curious, you get the MIDI from me. How will you do the drums when you only see a bunch of notes... Are you able to see what's Ride cymbals and what's hi-hats etc.?
