Hi everybody.
I'm sorry for my bad English. Firstly, Big thanks to all the contributors...
In the 2 years I’ve been playing Phase Shift, I’ve understood a lot about MIDI profiles. Big thanks to djlastnight whose application (PsMidiProfiler) saved me when I was lost and allowed me to start with Phase Shift. It is downloadable here : github.com/djlastnight/PsMidiProfiler/releases
In this thread, I would like to share this information with other users. Thus, I attached my 'midi_profiles.ini' (C:\Program Files (x86)\Phase Shift\settings\midi_profiles.ini) renamed 'midi_profiles by saih_tam.ini' which I have detailed and commented a lot to bring everything together in one file.
I'll also copy/paste this information in following posts but tabulations will unfortunately disappear. Everything is better laid out in 'midi_profiles by saih_tam.ini'.
I hope this will help somebody...

Further Phase Shift information : In "Drums" mode and "Drums Adv" mode (<TYPE>0</TYPE>), with <METHOD>1</METHOD>, hi-hat only pedal mustn't be assigned to YELLOW to avoid duplicated notes. In "Drums Real" mode (<TYPE>5</TYPE>) : - Phase Shift displays 2 different symbols on snare's lane but, despite appearances, head hit and rim shot (as well as cross stick) are not implemented separately. So <RED> has to be affected to all snare's MIDI notes. - Phase Shift displays 4 different symbols on hi-hat's lane but, despite appearances, only 3 different notes are implemented separately : YELLOW_O = YELLOW_SIn "Drums Real" mode (<TYPE>5</TYPE>), with <METHOD>1</METHOD>, YELLOW_C, YELLOW_O, YELLOW_S and YELLOW_P must be assigned separatly. In "Drums Real" mode (<TYPE>5</TYPE>), with <METHOD>3</METHOD>, only YELLOW button need to be assigned to 'note on' of hi-hat bow hit and edge hit. Edrums with pedal hi-hat accelerometer produce 'CC#4' + 'note on/off' events. Phase Shift remembers the last 'CC#4' velocity message and hi-hat messages that follow will be interpreted as YELLOW_C/O/P/S depending on : - CC#4 [0-79] + pad hit = open - CC#4 [80-119] + pad hit = sizzled (ie slight or small opening) - CC#4 [120-126] + pad hit = closed - CC#4 127 = only pedal (it plays a closed hi-hat, even if you don't hit the pad). In "Drums Real" mode (<TYPE>5</TYPE>), with <METHOD>3</METHOD>, YELLOW_C, YELLOW_O, YELLOW_S and YELLOW_P could be assigned in complement if necessary. In "Drums Real" mode (<TYPE>5</TYPE>), there are 2 charting methods : -R1- method :Some charters use YELLOW_C for [cymbal hit and closed_HH hit] and [YELLOW_S or YELLOW_O] for open_HH's nuances (sizzled or open). -R2- method :Other charters use YELLOW_C only for cymbals and YELLOW_S for closed_HH (with a custom 'png') and YELLOW_O for sizzled/open_HH. Let's see here for more details on this custom closed_HH 'png' that I have improved : dwsk.proboards.com/thread/2955/drums-notes-cleaned-closed-sizzle And let's see here for more details on this 2 "Drums Real" charting methods : dwsk.proboards.com/thread/2950/2-methods-drums-real-charting

Further Roland V-Drums TD-25 information : Roland V-Drums TD-25 module only send hi-hat 'CC#4' between [0~90]. I have to modify this values in real time to work with Phase Shift. Here is the recalculation : CC#4_V-Drums[0~90] / 90 x 127 => CC#4_Phase-Shift[0~127] I use loopMIDI and MIDI-OX (Options /Data Mapping) to realize this. Solution found thanks to Breathe on MIDI-OX forum : www.midiox.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=query;action=display;num=1659265685 Roland VH-11 with TD-25 Option 1 : If you set the 'HH Note# Border' to 127, the module will only ever send the open hi-hat notes (bow hit 46, edge hit 26) and the 'CC#4' control message (between [0~90]) indicates the pedal position to the VST. It will then be up to the VST to determine which sound to play for which 'CC#4' value. Option 2 : If you set the 'HH Note# Border' to anything less than 127 (90 by default), the module will send the open hi-hat notes (bow hit 46, edge hit 26) when the pedal position is above 'HH Note# Border' and the closed hi-hat notes (bow hit 42, edge hit 22) when the pedal position is below 'HH Note# Border'. So there will be a distinct cut over between the open and closed notes. The VST would then decide which sound to play for which MIDI note received. Thus : - if 'HH Note# Border' = 0 : all the MIDI notes are 42 or 22 (closed hi-hat) - if 'HH Note# Border' > 90 : all the MIDI notes are 46 or 26 (open hi-hat)

For me : In "Drums Real" mode, I tried to play with <TYPE>5</TYPE> & <METHOD>3</METHOD> but C1 cymbal assigned to YELLOW and charted as YELLOW_C didn't work when I was playing double bass pedal. Indeed, when my feet wasn't on hi-hat pedal, CC#4 = 0 and Phase Shift interpreted that as YELLOW_O. I had to implement YELLOW_C to fix this problem. Moreover, 'CC#4' interpretation of Phase Shift didn't match my playing and I didn't find how to tune it (I think we can't). Thus I play now with <TYPE>5</TYPE> & <METHOD>1</METHOD> and I tune the 'HH Note# Border' parameter of my V-Drums module to match my playing. I found that set the 'HH Note# Border' value to 73 is perfect for me.

Thank you for this information, I am just setting up for the first time with the Roland TD-17. I am hoping I am starting in the right place as my kit doesn't seem to be mapped properly. Honestly MIDI stuff is unfamiliar to me. I am technical but with PS, I just cant seem to find much in the way of beginner tutorials that apply to my hardware. I am on the Discord too.
Can just take that .ini file and use it even though I have TD-17 or is there a lot more to this than that? If so, perhaps you can point me in the right direction i.e. tutorials / guides that relate to my setup?
Thanks again!
Setup: Laptop ASUS TUF DASH F15 Windows 11 Roland TD-17 connected via USB (latest firmware) Phase Shift 1.27 (haven't checked for updates in a while after giving up upon initial install)
