I was just curious if there is any way of playing phase shift through something like a LAN setting. Is port forwarding necessary, because I was hoping to play a 2-player game within my household on 2 different computers. Is there any connection that would make this possible besides port forwarding, because I am not able to use this method?

a LAN setting would definately be cool, I still think a proper fix for the port forwarding is more important though

Having a LAN feature and then using Hamatchi could alleviate our port forwarding issues.

should already work, enter the local ip address and use direct ip connect
also make sure its set to private if you haven't setup your ports so people won't see an unjoinable server on the list

Hamachi is VLAN software that's in fairly common use. Install it, make a group, invite friends, instant LAN.

secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/It creates a "virtual" network where different users' computers will see each other as if they were connected to the same network and talk to each other directly. Edit: Ninja'd. But as a networking nerd, I can point out that VLAN is a different technology.
