I'm making a Keys chart and wanting to have a chord which has different tail lengths. Whenever I just highlight one note the whole chord gets selected. How do I unlink a note from the chord so I can adjust it's tail seperately?
Is this a limitation? Because if I create a note and then move it to a chord position it's tail gets changed to that of the chord.
Thanks David

EOF doesn't have a way to do this currently because any gems at the same position are merged into a single chord. I have some ideas for fixing this, but I was planning on tackling this after the 1.8 stable release when I work on the keys/pro keys authoring. To do it much sooner, I'd have to come up with a way to allow gems in a chord to be separated into different notes and allow a keyboard-driven way to select one of the gems for editing. It would probably be a bit clunky, but it's probably better than waiting until I can implement a mouse driven way to do it.

It's no rush I can edit them in another MIDI editor after as it's only a few notes I'm having trouble with.
Thanks David

I was planning on making it so that "crazy" notes would have the automatic merging into a single note disabled. While this wouldn't immediately allow you to select one gem of a chord and change its length, it would allow you to place a note, set its length and move it to the position of another note so that each kept their different lengths.

Why are they linked to begin with? Is it old code or is it usefull to have them as a chord for some features?

It's how NewCreature designed it to work, because in the old days, it wasn't valid to have different notes start at the same time, they had to be in the same chord.
