I know that songs of PS don't have tag in song.ini, but you can add the icon and they can add the tag in song.ini if they want

I cannot get this theme to work. Every time i set it on the themes menu the game crashes (i have the latest version of the game) I followed the instructions (set videos "on" etc) and the game didn't crash but it didn't use the theme at all, only the default theme again! I deleted the default theme folder and now i only see a black theme with nothing in it... Did it everything again from start, the game crashes again

do a clean install fo the game, and test if everything works fine, then install the rb2 theme and if it crashes post the content of game_log.txt here.

I finally figured it out. I had to rename the main folder from Phase Shift to "PhaseShift" and the theme folder from Rock Band 2 to "RockBand2". For some reason the spaces between words made the game crash each time i changed random options.

I just picked up PS a few days ago and have been rocking out all day while using this theme. It's awesome and I want to thank you.

I do have one question/issue though- For some of my songs a small black box appears on the screen every time I strum a note. I tried going back to default theme during one of the affected songs and the issue disappeared. So whatever is happening is from an issue with the theme it seems.

Any idea what's happening or how I could fix it? I'm super new at this.

Edit: It seems like the issue is with one of the default 3D Abstract backgrounds interacting poorly with the theme. It actually does this for Rock Band 2 AND 3 themes. I tried installing cool video backgrounds but dropping them into the video folder and then enabling video backgrounds left me with only a black background and no video.

about the abstract bgs ill take a look at that, i hardly ever use them so i might have missed something.

The menu videos and the theme itself work fine. I read the read-me and installed the theme correctly.

In the read-me's for Rock Band 2 and 3 themes there is a link provided for song video backgrounds. I think that's the term for a video that plays during the actual playing/strumming of a song, and that's what i'm having trouble with. There is no information on how to install a song video background and as a bit of a noob that would be super appreciated. I tried searching all through these forums but for some reason there is no starter guide or install guide stickied anywhere and even the search bar comes up empty.

I figured you could just drop one into data/backgrounds/video and then enable it in the menu but that didn't work.

As to the error I don't know the name of the default 3D abstract background that glitches out but it has a black bar running through the center of it.

if that doesn't work try copying the menu video rbbg.avi located in Phase Shift\themes\Rock Band 2\dynamic\videos to the game backgrounds folder and select it, just to make sure the videos you have are not the cause of the issue.

just been really busy the past year, graduated from college and whatnot, but anyways, theres a little request I have for you xd, seeing as how you are a ton more familiar with 3D textures than I am for phase shift, any way you can make some GH3 ones or of that style? I understand if its asking too much tho <

But didnt WoR theme have them already, or they are 2d??

anyways, I could make some models for them(after i reinstall 3ds max)but the annoying part is making the textures for all the diferent variations, but you could do that yourself right?
