So unlike what you hear off of discs and MP3s, tracks in a song need a slight adjustment for games so that a player who is designated to a certain track will be able to hear it clearly as he/she is hitting notes in-game.
To me, this sounds really hard to do without the right equipment and software. And even then, you'd still probably butcher a song by adjusting one track without knowing or being considerate of all the others, which can be pretty hard to achieve when a full band plays together.
I've done some googling on how it's done and have always come up empty-handed. I'd like some help in knowing what it takes to be a sound guy for this stuff.
