So the topic of having the game on steam came up briefly in another thread, and I was thinking if you'd really like to market the game, you'd want to add some RPG elements. I'm thinking about games like Sequence, which has been taken up by storm. I know it's a big stretch and probably a large commitment, but the RPG elements could be fairly small anyway. Along with the character stats and things would be leveling and experience. And then the boss battles could be part of a storyline and such. Take games like Sequence, or Puzzle Quest that focus on unique battle gameplay and use simple RPG mechanics as well. Personally, I'm not a big fan of storylines, but I like a marked progress and getting rewards and such. I think the game stands great on its own, and I understand you're still in the feature coding stage, so this may be too early to consider. Just something to think about, it would set Phase Shift apart from Rock Band, Guitar Hero, FoF, or any other type of game in the music genre.

not really what this projects about, but lets be honest here, u just want to level up your pig you've found me out! Haha. I know it's far from Phase Shift's original intention, just bringing to light what modern music games are doing to stay in the scene in case DWSK wants to market this game. I'd buy it regardless as soon as MIDI support is implemented.

I don't care for story either but like you I do like marked progress though. This could and probably would be beneficial to the game, however, I do think their are a lot of more important stuff that should be done beforehand.
Would be cool to see PS on steam though, unfortunately I probably wouldn't be able to afford it... unless it was really cheap, but I'd price PS in it's current state at around $10-15
EDIT I'd rather level up my long cat!

If this program eventually comes to Steam, I would at least like to see a Steam Cloud and Steam Achievements.
