This game serisously needs flames for tails, and I have an awesome idea.
Make the tail kinda do what Rock Band does when you hit a note. The grey part that shoots out the farthest but keep doing that on sustain notes and make it the color of the tail. Make it go in all different directions but not as far out as RB as well as explode when the tail ends. Thoughts?

haha, Im all for explosions, It would be cool to watch the notes just break apart when hit, as for the tail.. i dunno...

What you're trying to ask for is particle effects on the sustains, right?
I THINK David said it was on his todo list in the FOFFF thread.

What??? No!!!!! lol. Those grey waves. Colorize them, make them small and go in different directions on tails.

Needs hitflames? I wish there was an option on FoF to turn them off. Personally I don't really care for them, and the less there is to get in the way of gameplay the better.
For the design of the game, I guess its necessary though.
