Nice! I'm going to have to try out my Squier to see if it works nicely in this release.

When using the MPA controls to navigate in the menus, I found that if I used the up/down control, after a second or two Phase Shift would auto scroll that direction. When this happens, it is impossible to navigate with a computer keyboard because the MPA overrides it. The button presses (ie. A and B) seem less reliable as well.
In versions 0.77 and 0.8, when I record a bot playthrough of a chart, the background video is played out of sync with the audio. When I load the separated audio and video in VirtualDub, it plays back in sync. This happens even if I had made a fresh 2 pass Xvid encode of the video to use in Phase Shift, so I don't know if this is a problem with the video or with whichever video libraries Phase Shift is using. It seems that every recording I've made with background video shows the same issue. I was using an old ATI driver, but running the new one that was released at the end of last month hasn't corrected this. I can send one or more charts for your examination if it helps.

Happens to me regardless of process priority. It's not video lag that's the problem, but the entire video is out of sync. Experiments with my video for "Danger Zone" show the desync is about 300ms. If it's not a video driver issue, I imagine it's either a codec issue or some kind of Phase Shift bug. However, I have no issues playing the Xvid video outside of the game.

Is the sync only out when recording or does it happen normally too?
I'll also look into the natvigate issue too.
Thanks David

It happens regardless of whether I am recording with Fraps.

raynebc RE: MPA Menu Navigation. OK, here's the deal with this issue. Basically there is some kind of driver issue with the MPA which when using the Guitar the keep alive signal resets the controller state for all the axis and buttons. If you go into Windows Game Controllers and hold down a few frets you notice that the keep alive signal every couple of seconds resets the state and as such triggering a release signal for all the buttons. I created a fix for it which basically disregards a blank signal where all the axis and buttons are set to 0. I was thinking that there was no instance where this happens in normal gameplay as a couple of axis allways seemed to be greater than 0. Now this is true but only after you have strummed once on a string and set the first string state. Because of this it is disregarding the release signal of the buttons untill the strings are strummed creating a first string value and forcing the state to always be greater than 0. So I'm not sure how to handle this. It is complicated further as my drivers don't seem to have the same issue as yours of fatdogs making it a pain to work with. Any Ideas? Thanks David

I suppose we'd all have to try to standardize by using a specific driver, such as one obtainable from Microsoft's website. I could see if picking a string helps, but if this happens each time I use the DPAD in the same Phase Shift session, changing drivers might be the better way to go. Where did you get your driver?
Do you have any thoughts about the video delay?

This is the problem me an fatdog couldn't work out where my driver came from or how to extract it.
I haven't looked in the Video Backgrounds Issue Yet.
Thanks David
