And I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Info: I have an Alesis Nitro e-kit. I'm using a USB B Printer cable. The device is being seen by Windows 10. I go into the MIDI Link section of the profile and Alesis Nitro is there but it has a big red light to the right.
Edit: Forgot to say that when I'm in "Practice" nothing registers when I hit any of the pads on the kit. In the Utility settings I have LOC turned OFF, but it didn't work with it ON either.
Any help would be much appreciated thanks!

I thought maybe the cord I was using wasn't good or something so I tried another USB B cord but things are still the same. I'm starting to think I might have to buy one of those MIDI to USB cable things. And I still don't know why there's a big red light next to the Alesis Nitro kit in the MIDI Link section.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Welp, this thread can be closed now. My problem was that I was using a USB 3.0 slot and not a 2.0 slot...I read someplace, maybe here, about 3.0 not working well or all the time or something and I remembered that before going to sleep. I then decided to check what my USB ports are and found out that all of them except my Keyboard and mouse slot are 3.0...
Now the only issue I have is that when it was plugged in my camera wouldn't register for recording but I should be able to figure that out.

I forgot about this thread. I have gotten everything working fine. The issue with the camera was that I had them both connected to the front panel and that was overloading those slots.

I'm about to get a Alesis Strike Pro SE and I am researching the issues I might run into. This is very helpful! Thanks for sharing.
