Just a couple suggestions for the song library sorting:
Headers: Just like Rockband, headers are a must when your library starts to get very large. I have 3000+ songs and it's a pain to have to find a song or band that has a letter close to another band I want to play, then switching to sort by that method (song name or Artist) and then scrolling to find it. It's exhausting on drums and frankly encourages play of specific song instead of encouraging playing new or different songs. Simply adding some headers relating to the sorting method (A-Z for band and artist, alternately this header menu could also have submenus, for example if I hit M, it could bring up a list of all the bands that start with M [this would be superior to Rockband's Letter-only headers], Tier 1-6 for difficulty, etc.) would fix the issue and make the "song search" function obsolete (as nice as it is to be able to search directly for a song, it's not a big deal to find a header close to it). Alternately you could just set the song search to a different key, or toggle it like you do with your 'select function'.
Sort by Difficulty: Why does this *exclusively* sort by band difficulty? Just like Rock Band, it should sort by the instrument you're currently playing on, or if multiple people are playing different instruments, *then* sort by band difficulty. I understand you're not trying to make a clone game but the way Rock Band does it is very intuitive and natural. When I sort by difficulty playing guitar, I intend to play a difficult guitar song, and the same goes for drums. Many tier 6 band difficulty songs are tier 3-4 drums and it's a little frustrating.
I admittedly searched for the source code to try and add it myself but I assume this game isn't open source. It wouldn't take much effort to add either of these functions, yet I see sorting requests like these dating back *years* and no reply is ever posted (hence me wanting to attempt it myself). If you want the game to be mainstream, QOL is *huge*. People just wanna get in and play.
