Spoiled CH player checking in...
I think it would be a nice addition if controller profiles could be customized further, notably allowing use of your mouse or keyboard into an instrument profile. In the Clone Hero community, a popular option for players is to use a cheap USB foot pedal (functioning as a one-key keyboard) and assign that to activating their Star Power. Activating SP in this way is easier for some, can allow for more precise activations, but more importantly it could be a viable solution if your guitar were to have a wonky tilt sensor (or in the case of a Wii guitar with a Raphnet adapter, no sensor at all).
As it stands, I have two main guitars: A Wii Les Paul + Raphnet adapter, and a wired 360 Stratocaster. My Strat has me tilting almost 90° to activate, making it awkward to say the least, and no way to configure it in-game. My Les Paul I have to press select. The horrors, I know, but still.
Thoughts?

I'm more partial with hardware mods over software mods as they don't add any perceived latency, but at a great cost of a hardware mod.
I could see this happening with a remaper program like InputMapper2 (what I use to get Adv Drums with my PS4 drums), but that's a deep dive I'm not willing to go through at this time.

I'll take a look into InputMapper, thanks for the tip.
I wasn't expecting this to be a software mod, as ideally it would be handled by the game itself. It would just be treated as any other keybind with no latency.
Not to play armchair developer here, just making sure we're on the same page.
