Hi All,
I'm a sucker for those official converted RB3 and guitar hero songs, and some PRO DRUMS charts on expert are really detailed. I'd like to sightread them, instead of using tutorial mode.
I've figured out the Guitar PRO has the import from midi feature, but I suppose the phase shift midi notation for kick/snare and so on is very different from what guitar pro expects.
One way to make it work is to remove all other instruments and only leave pro drums expert difficulty + transpose the kick to C1 or whatever it's supposed to be in REAPER. Still, doing such for each and every song manually sounds like pain.
I can read midi files in java easily, but transposing timing signatures into notes, figuring out their values (half-quarter-...) from timings, rendering this stuff into PDF using some sort of lib or custom fonts - I wish there was a way to make it work with Guitar Pro import from midi and get PDFs that way
Did anyone do anything like this so far and can he share his tooling?
Thanks

At the moment I am able to: - extract pro drums track - map them to channel-10 drum note codes - put it back to file - export to PDF through guitar pro 5 (gp6 behaves rather weird with the file, while ableton and gp5 open it without any trouble) Next steps are: - cleaning the code / making a deliverable - probably throwing in pro-keys/pro-guitar/pro-bass for better reference - addressing all the mistakes I have in working with midi api (man I do have a lot) Also the time note sizes are off having all these unnecessary stops makes it hard to read. I wonder if I can do anything about these Progress so far
