Hi there,
Can someone who is familiar with Expert + Drum Charting in PhaseShift offer some help. I am a rockband 3 charter who has dozens and dozens of pro drum charts under my belt for Rockband 3 with a reaper template. I want to switch to Phase Shift so I can chart drums exactly as performed and have questions regarding the cymbal/tom/ flam icons (mostly for open hi hat) and for charting things like open closed hi hat, ride bell vs ride crash... things like that. Anyone familiar with this sort of thing. I would really appreciate the help. Especially if I can set up these types of things in reaper. Thanks!

Some of these things (ie. open/closed/sizzle hi hat) use a Sysex based notation. I'm not sure how easy it is to author that in Reaper, but EOF will write the correct notations if you end up using it to add these Phase Shift specific features. Expert+ bass drum is authored as MIDI note 95.

When it comes to REAL Drums, it's so much easier to use EOF. You don't have to memorize all those SYSEX codes.

Thanks very much guys. So I am going to download EOF tonight. Is there a template for EOF that is already set up for real pro drums in phase shift? If not, is there a guide on how to assign everything? I saw on youtube videos that custom icons can be made for the hits? For instance, there is a picture of a half open hi hat for "open hi-hat" and perhaps a picture of a bell for"bell hits. Can this be customized or does that require programming and code?
Is it possible to do flam hits for snare?

Expert+ bass drum is authored as MIDI note 95. How do I get a closed hi-hat symbol in EoF?
Example:
EoF just gives me Open, Sizzle and Pedal as an Option. I just can't figure out how to get the closed hi-hat option. And when it's just selected as a cymbal it will be a plain yellow symbol (which would be better used as a crash cymbal symbol than a closed hi-hat).
As far as I know that charter I linked also just uses EoF to chart real drums.

Hey, creator of the vid here. I simply replaced the sizzle note in \Phase Shift\themes\(theme name)\static\notes with my photoshopped "closed" version that you can get here: www.dropbox.com/sh/pdc2ke66bff5ck0/AAD_WRu07njOVDrPdD_NloXMa?dl=0So there really isn't a closed hh option, at least not yet. Looks like they plan on adding more drum features though which is fantastic!

I even donated to your paypal today to make sure you get my question asking this, as I could not find anything about this in any forums like frets on fire or C3 customs. Just nothing, but your video.
Thanks for your answer, incredible that you found this question right away.
Your charting is incredible, really inspired me to start charting real drums.
I hope they add more modifiers like this in the new phase shift version. Like closed HH, a way to distinquish between ride and crash on the same lane or even modifiers for splash or the bell on a ride or crash
Oh btw, does the accent thing do anything to the chart ingame?

Thanks a lot randal, I replied to your email! If you mean the accent feature in EOF I think it's a guitar thing for Rocksmith or something!

Accent drum note status is exported to the GHWT MIDI because that game supports it.
