Hello, I notive that when I start PhaseShift, it takes a while to load all my songs. And then, if I quit to do something and then open the game again, it loads the songs in like a second or so. My question is: does it create a Temps folder or file that I can access to make my first load faster. Hope I am clear, english isn't my native tongue

It would be nice if it saved a cache of the songs onto the hard disk, though that might not actually load any faster on NTFS...
To answer your question: no, all it does is keep it loaded in the RAM. See, computers have two types of memory: your HDD (Hard Disk Drive) is what stores all your files, and your RAM (Random Access Memory) which stores what you have open. The RAM is much smaller than the HDD. The RAM usually has 4GB of memory, while the HDD has 400GB. Also, the RAM will only store data as long as the computer is turned on. What makes RAM so useful is that it's much faster. When you open up an application, it's pulled off the HDD and put onto the RAM so that whenever the computer needs to use it, it can, very quickly. This is what the computer is doing when it loads up the game: taking it off the HDD and putting it on the RAM. The nice thing about it is, when you close the game, you don't have to actually get rid of it unless you open other applications that overwrite it, so if you open it up again it doesn't take as long to load.

Thanks dNıhıl, even though I knew it already, its nice for you to answer properly. It was my guess that it goes to the RAM but i wouldn't really know for sure until I asked . I will stick with waiting i guess. Thanks again.

It is possible that it would load fastest (initially) on a SATA III SSD, or an M.2 SSD; either of which are tantamount to RAM in both speed and build. But, in all honesty, that's just an excuse to avoid placing on the RAM altogether.

I'm seeing the same issue as blinksk8
I've got about 3000 songs and it takes PS several minutes to load up, and that's after I upgraded to a samsung EVO SSD.
What do people generally do when they have large libraries? Split them somehow? Have two installs of PS? Just curious
