Currently the calibration (through the song) works to check the input delay against video, then against audio. That doesn't make too much sense to me. I would think having a system that first calibrates the video and audio, THEN the input delay, would be substantially simpler.
My idea would have a 'video' play that flashes the screen for 1 frame of the refresh rate (uncapped framerate to prevent stuttering), and a beep goes off at the same time. You adjust the a/v sync with that. After that, then you check for input delay with a basic song.
