well, I've been thinking, and I think this would be a nice way to graphically handle PS (SP) basically have something like this overlay on the fretboard, but of course not just a picture, have it moving, like waving and changing colors, maybe make it kind of a music visualizer! of course... need to find a way to make so its easier to see the notes though. just my suggestion on it

Sounds neat, but as far as practicality goes it seems like it'd be incredibly distracting.

yes i strongly agree but i think that this might be too much to do for right now and will be pushed back at the very least

honestly, in my personal opinion, i think changeing the SP graphic is on a rather important notes becus the current one is not only boring but makes it very hard to see the notes, not to menion its very much like how RB handles it, and since their trying to not be a clone, I think creating a unique SP set up is rather important, but these are purely my opinions ^_^

well maybe but i don't really have that problem so i guess it's a person to person issue and theme making will be coming soon so that might just get fixed by someone else.. and about the clone thing i would say they shouldn't do special game limiting things just to seem less like a clone.. they should just make the best game they can

how is adding a feature like that limiting? thats being much more complex and creative, if anything it would be the opposite as it would be giving the people an option of having a more dynamic sp system, over just using a PNG image

i don't mean that particular feature is limiting but i'm just saying that the "we would less like a clone if we did this" thing should never persuade them in their decision to add or not add a feature.. just as games are killed by "we would make more money if we did this" i think phase shift would be less than it could be if they made decisions like that

hmm, well if i figure out how to alter the "in game" looks of PS, i'll definately work at doing something different for starpower activation, although it will hopefully (if at all possible) be non fretboard related. rather, i'd like to have the background change upon starpower use if at all possible...

as of right now I dont believe we can change how SP is handled aside from changing the PNG images

hmm, maybe i'll have to keep it out of that area, however if there was a way to cause "background events" upon use of star power, that would be really cool.
my idea was basically to have the background area around the fretboard to change to show the starpower use, instead of flooding the actual fretboard neck with extra "clutter" (i only call it that because it's distracting from the notes)

But it is very dynamic in the menu systems right now. I am looking to use the same system for the ingame gameplay as the menus which will allow for this kinda thing. Thanks David

Actaully I like that image. I might use that and work with it and see if I can integrate it into the new theme I'm doing.
