Hello, I'm pretty new in the forum, but I have been playing Phase Shift for 3 years. I like so much the game. But there are two things that are very necessary for make the game perfect. The whammy and the vocal support.
I was reading in the forum and I realised that is an old request that it couldn't make it true, and I understand because this two algorithms are almost impossible to make them. But there are people that made them and they share on internet. I don't know a lot of sound programming, but I take a time to search some libraries and codes, and I find 4 interesting projects that could help Phase Shift.
One is about the Pitch Shifting in realtime, I supposed this could make the Whammy effect, it's written in C++ and also I find it in C#.
Pitch Shifting using the FT - C++
Pitch Shifting - C#
(Both are the same in different language)
And also I find two projects called dywapitchtrack and Realtime C# Pitch Tracker. They are Pitch Tracker in Real Time that could help with the Vocal Support. I also find the Performous source code (It's a game similar to Phase Shift and FoF),(The Pitch code is in /game/Pitch.cc and Pitch.hh) I think it also could help in the Vocal Support (it's written in C)
I don't know if theese projects can help, but I wanted to talk about them, because the Whammy and Vocal Support would be very important features for Phase Shift. I have a lot of Ideas for make them true, but I don't know how to programming them: You could use Killswitch effect for Whammy (It's more easy to make a Algorithm for that), or make a second track of the guitar with a lower pitch in background and when you use the whammy bar, the original track should be changed by the lower pitch track. I don't know, thoose are my ideas, but it would be very important to implement theese features and a lot of more in future releases.
Sorry for my English, I'm Argentinian .
Saludos.
