Hello, I'm new in the forum. I like so much fretting songs with EOF, but I use Ubuntu how my main OS. I want to know if there are a Linux version of EOF v1.8 RC10. I know about the source of the original EOF 1.71, but It is very basic to make Phase Shift songs. Do anybody knows where is a Linux version or the source code of the actual project of EOF?

We don't have any Linux binaries of EOF, you'd have to build it from source code (available on Google Code).

But the source code in Google Code is very old, is from the EOF v1.71, I already have that version in my Ubuntu, but it doesn't work very well for making Phase Shift songs(It's perfect for FoFiX Songs). For that reason I want to know if there are a source code of the EOF v1.8 RC10 available for Linux users.

Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. The Google Code repository has the absolute latest revision, which was made last night, because I posted it there: code.google.com/feeds/p/editor-on-fire/svnchanges/basicThe only thing is that it doesn't have any binary releases newer than 1.71 hosted there.

Ohh, sorry. You're right, but I don't know how to use the svn, I already have Subversion in Ubuntu, but I have never used it. Can you help me?

Nevermind, I take a time to learn about svn and I just download and compile the EOF, Works perfect!. Thank you very much, I also saw your name in the project so I supposed that you are one of the developer of EOF. Thanks for making EOF, I like so much fretting.

That wiki was very helpful, I had some problems installing some libraries because I didn't have some compilers, but My biggest problem was trying to MAKE Alegro 4.4, The instruction didn't work. So I had to read in a ubuntu blog how to MAKE it, I don't know what I did, but it finally worked.(Also, you should tell in the wiki that EOF needs LAME and OggVorbis, and I also think that needs OggCat of Oggvideotools). By the way, I had a problem, EOF works great for me, but every song played in EOF is in a higher pitch. Is it a bug of EOF, or some library is working wrong for me? And also the "Time Stretch" option crashes EOF. Do I need another library or something?

Time stretch requires the rubber band library and maybe the FFTW library, but those are already in the list of required dependencies. As for playing the wrong pitch, that must be a problem with the audio libraries. I don't really have any significant amount of experience using Linux, and not really any experience developing in it so I have little idea of how to maintain the Linux EOF wiki.

No problem, I supose that I will find a solution. I think my problem is only with the rubberband library. Thanks for all.
