OK, I have added support for more seperated audio files and I wanted to let you all know what format I'm going for.
These are all self explanatory: drums.ogg - Full Drum Mix rhythm.ogg - Bass Guitar / Rhythm Guitar guitar.ogg - Guitar / Coop Guitar keys.ogg - Keys vocals.ogg - Normal Vocal Mix song.ogg - All Other Song Audio crowd.ogg - Crowd Audio
VOCALS To correctly support harmony vocals we need to allow for seperate audio and as such: vocals_1.ogg - Lead Vocals vocals_2.ogg - Backing Vocals
DRUMS If the game detects all 4 split drum audio tracks in the song folder then it will assume it's using the Guitar Hero Method. If it only detects 3 then it will assume it's using the Rockband Method. I will add some song.ini tags to overide this at some point but for now this should do fine unless someone has any objections.
NOTE: If there are not any split audio tracks found it will revert back to drums.ogg
Guitar Hero Method drums_1.ogg - Kick Drum drums_2.ogg - Snare Drum drums_3.ogg - Cymbals drums_4.ogg - Toms
Rockband Method drums_1.ogg - Kick Drum drums_2.ogg - Snare Drum drums_3.ogg - Toms and Cymbals
I would reccomend that you include vocals.ogg and drums.ogg even if you have split Drum and Vocal audio. This will allow for backwards compatibility for FOF and also allow the option to disable the split audio if you so choose.
Let me know if you think this should be workable. And thanks to Bluzer for his help.

1) what do you want him to do about that? if its 100 mb's its 100mb's nothing he can code will change that
2) noting that your waiting was completely pointless.

this audio system is obviously an option not a requirement, if you don't have the space then you can keep using merged tracks as normal, if you want the benefits of proper split audio and have the hd space then this is the way to go

Reading this I just can't believe how far this game has developed now. Most games would have collapsed in the first few months.

i appreciate that you guys are still updating this game and keeping it alive and well, i recently started using this alot, mostly because its the only way to get custom pro charts, awesome 3D graphics, changing neck angle and whammy gfx during gameplay, gaining speed in practice, and it runs hella fast with multiplayer, i love it. (plus i dont have to import my whole database of songs from my 2 terrabyte into this <3 )

Can't we get it to also support GH1 and GH2 style tracks? Where you just have song.ogg and guitar.ogg or just song.ogg, guitar.ogg and rhythm.ogg ?
I have a couple custom single instrument songs that have this level of separation only on the audio and it's annoying that it just plays the full audio mix all the time instead of doing it properly like fofix.
other than that I love phase shift!
