If you have an instrumental (ie. off vocal) version of the song, I'm sure it's more likely Sonic Visualizer will give more accurate results. Would also having no bass do it better or worse or would that be a bad idea? I did it with a cover of Cemetery Gates of KV and most of it was good.

Would this also be a good idea, but can you use Sonic Visualizer and then do it for each audio track. or would that mess it up.

That would mess it up. If you were going to use a single instrument stem, the drum one is probably the best option. If an instrumental part plays before the drums begin, you may want to leave that instrument in also.

I see, so if there is no drums, then mix it so the guitar stems is playing, and then when the drums come in, then add the drum stem and if it is only bass, then bass stem, I will try out that idea. thanks

OK, I used the program on Danger Zone from Karaoke Version, only using the drum track as the drums don't stop in the song and guitar, drums was matching with the waves, thanks.
