I actually don't use the main feature of this application at all, the only reason I installed it is Music Studio. I'm a drummer and this mixer/player is very useful, it's missing 1 crucial feature, namely a metronome/click track. If you planned to implement this I would give you some more details here. Thanks!

Are you thinking along the lines of a steady tempo metronome, or playing the click track from a chart (based on its beat markers)?

Steady tempo just would not work on many songs, it would have to be based on a chart data.

Instead of the Music Studio, why don't you just use Audacity?

I'll put it on my list but it's not a simple feature as it requires loading the MIDI file which take a little time even if I limit it to the tempo track. Right now it's a fast load system but I'll see what I can do.

Instead of the Music Studio, why don't you just use Audacity? I used to simply because I was not aware of any alternative, but playing multi track songs using Audacity is like browsing your pictures collection using Photoshop. And unless I'm missing something Audacity can't read MIDI files.

Maybe it would be an idea to release it as a separate project which could lift some limitations which are consequences of it being a part of Phase Shift like lack of mogg files support or no mouse support.

Hi guys. Is this feature likely to be added to Phase Shift in foreseeable future at all? Thanks

It's on my todo list. But we have a few bugs I'm working on right now which need to be resolved before I start adding new features.

Hi,
This thread I started over 2 years ago, just wondering if this is still a planned feature? I would still very much like to have it. Thanks.

Somewhat coincidentally I recently began implementing a standalone music studio application to experiment with FMOD and SDL. It currently only has basic functionality for playing songs but I'm likely to add more as I go along. I didn't have any plans to release it but if it's something people might find useful then I might make it available for others.
Thanks David

I guess it would make sense to have it as a standalone application, certainly to me anyway. Two years since my original suggestion and there is still no mogg nor multiple ogg file player for windows apart from awkward to use audio editors so it would be great if there was out there something as good as current music studio but with additional features like those I mentioned - mogg support, mouse support and click track generation. That last feature I would kill for, to my knowledge there's nothing available that can do this.
Is this application available for some alpha tests with some functionality or is it not there yet?

It's a mess right now as I've only been using it as a test bed for FMOD integration into Phase Shift. I am hoping to find some time to work on it this week but we'll see how things go.
Thanks David

Thanks David So with Fmod, does that mean I can use the whammy bar, also would that mean we can have 2 guitar tracks for lead and rhythm.
