Pro Mode- What do the X's Mean?

When playing pro guitar or bass there are some X's that show up

What do I play when I see an X ?

its a muted note

You have to play strings that have muted notes, but it doesn't matter what fret you hold for it. You can even play those strings open (no fret held) if you want.
