Hello everyone. I'm pretty new to Phase Shift, but I like it already. I played the default songs on it, and the engine seems extremely tight compared to FoFiX. It actually runs smoothly on my computer without any stuttering, and everything happens so quickly.
So here's what I am doing: I have the Guitar Hero and Band Hero set of instruments for the Wii. This requires me to use a Bluetooth adapter and subsequently, GlovePIE. As you might know, I used GlovePIE to create a multi-purpose Wii controller script. It is pretty outdated but it still works with GlovePIE 0.40. I have since upgraded to GlovePIE 0.43 and updated my script for it. (My script is not public because I haven't ironed out all of the bugs in it) The way I had it set up required PPJoy to be installed on my computer.
Here's the problem: Phase Shift and the Controller Profiler both do not register any input from PPJoy virtual controllers. The same PPJoy virtual controllers work everywhere else where joystick input is accepted (Game Controllers Control Panel Screen, FoFiX, Super Mario War, and Game Maker were all tested to work, Super Mario War does NOT play well with a guitar controller mind you...).
What I am doing instead is this: I use GlovePIE to map the buttons on my guitar to the keys on my keyboard. This setup works pretty decently, except that my Wiitar has 5 different analog functions (Joystick X, Joystick Y, Whammy, Slidebar, and Tilt) mapped to digital buttons. Granted, the joystick and tilt do not need to be analog. However, "smooth" whammy as well as the slidebar both need analog for full functionality. I guess I could miss out on the analog whammy... but then I got someone else to come over and play with me. Actually, let's say I have 3 other friends on the way over and we all want to play Phase Shift. What then?
This all shortens to a few simple questions:
1. How do I get PPJoy virtual controllers to register in Phase Shift?
2. Failing that, how would I set up Phase Shift for two players on one keyboard?
