I'm currently working on a full blown skin for Phase Shift and am wondering if there is any way possible to change the font "Paper Clip 2" to a different font.
Copying a font in and renaming it to "paperclip-2.ttf" doesn't work and deleting the old font removes it, but then you get boring and very large fonts in game. (During song play, other fonts were skinned via PNG's and I got those changed.)
Any ideas?
Thanks much!

The fonts are handled 2 ways at the moment as we are in the process of moving the game section by section to the new system. "paperclip-2.ttf" only effects ingame and loading screens. All the rest of the menus are controlled using the seperate images for each letter locaed in either "GameFolder\Data\Fonts\" or the fonts folder within the current theme "GameFolder\Themes\Default\fonts\". The font can then be set in each menu theme.ini. YOUR_FONT_NAME_HERE The font name refers to the folder the font is located in.

How do you configure the theme.ini, as far as option, programming it and etc? And I assume that the theme.ini goes in the \themes\*theme_name* folder. Tried just putting the tag in but I would assume there is more then that to it. Pretty much don't care about the other fonts, just the paper cut font I would love to change out. I already got the other font's changed out as far as the font's defined via images (was quite fun to get done till I found an easy way to do it... besides one image at a time!) In the theme folder there is all the files you need. If you duplicate the folder and name it something esle you can then use the default one as a base.

I already duplicated it, and put a TrueType font into the "\theme\*theme_name*\fonts" folder. Named the font to default, and tried naming it as its name.. then changing the "menu" ini files. Still can't get it to work.

The fonts used in the menus are not .ttf. they are seperated images like you find in. C:\Users\David\Desktop\Phase Shift Release\Data\Fonts\default\
Thanks David

Ahh maybe that is my problem. I was assuming you could use TrueType fonts because I saw the Paper Cut font was a ttf.
I will give it a shot and see how it goes.
Thanks.

I don't know what to say now. I looked through all the *.ini files for the theme and didn't find a single line that would change out the Paper Cut font out. (TTF attached to this message so you know exactly what font I am changing.) I can't even get it to change in the the drop down player select menu. I tried just changing font sizes to eliminate misspelling of the new font name and none of the words that use Paper Cut for the font changed size. Any other ideas? Thanks Attachments:

just to try explain a little better the game has 2 font systems, a standard font system and an image based font system, the ttf system is not user customisable and is being phased out for the image based system, the ttf system has some known glitches and is not something that should be played with
anything that has been ported over to the new image based font system can be adjusted

Cool thanks Knapman, then I will look forward to when all fonts can be customized!
