I've been searching for some informations on how to note rim shots and open hi-hats (and possibly other techniques idk about) on MIDI softwares such as reaper, though, even using EoF to mark a note for them, I can't seem to find what exactly changed to the note, no additionnal note, notes on the same channel, etc. I might've been blind too, if there's a link with such infos on this forums (or otherwise) please link me. Thanks.
I'm getting an E-kit in a month or less, and I want to author some songs before I get it so they are ready to play! Nothing wrong with EoF, I just prefer reaper, habbits of RB3 charting.

In the midi file, those drum features are SYSEX events. If you want to add them, but still use Reaper as your authoring tool of choice, it's best to write out the basic chart in Reaper, and import the MIDI into EOF to add the SYSEX events as it's more streamlined for that.
I've tried to write them out manually... it's a pain. EOF is the way to go for REAL drums.

Yeah I just noticed the sysex events.. like 30seconds ago.. lol.
For those who are curious about this, managed to find the open hi-hat sysex event and it's done like that:
On note ON event, it needs the sysex "50 53 00 00 03 05 00 " On note OFF event, it needs the sysex "50 53 00 00 03 05 01 "
I think I will do as suggested, I don't mind doing the notes manually on REAPER at all, but entering sysex informations for a good percentage of them must be a pain.

Here's the formal syntax for the Sysex message system:
Custom Sysex marker format: 0xF0 (MIDI identifier for Sysex) Variable length (8 bytes) 3 bytes: 'P','S','\0' 1 byte: (Message ID: 0 = phrase) 1 byte: (Difficulty ID: 0 = Easy, 1 = Medium, 2 = Hard, 3 = Expert) 1 byte: (Phrase ID: 1=Open strum,2=Pro guitar slide up,3=Pro guitar slide down,4=Slider note,5=Open Hi Hat,6=Pedal Hi Hat,7=Snare Rim Shot,8=Sizzle Hi Hat,9=Pro guitar palm mute,10=Pro guitar vibrato,11=Pro guitar harmonic,12=Pro guitar pinch harmonic,13=Pro guitar bend,14=Pro guitar accent,15=Pro guitar pop,16=Pro guitar slap,17=Yellow drum note is cymbal+tom,18=Blue drum note is cymbal+tom,19=Green drum note is cymbal+tom) 1 byte: (Phrase status: 0 = Phrase stop, 1 = Phrase start) 1 byte: 0xF7 data byte ("End of Sysex")

Thanks raynebc, I didn't knew you could do cymbal+tom on same gem, this is interesting.

I don't think Phase Shift implemented that feature yet, but having a phrase to define it seemed like the best option.

Alright, there's something weird happening.
I made a real drums chart a couple of years ago with EoF, and every fancy real drums stuff appears on it, but the one I just made, the fancy real drums stuff doesn't appear; open hi-hats appears as closed hi-hats (normal yellow cymbal gem) even though the sysex events are there (modified via EoF). Can anyone take a look?
Edit: [removed link]
Nevermind my blindness/stupidity, I found the problem. song.ini didn't have the required setting (sysex_high_hat_ctrl = True).
