Stumbled across PhaseShift recently and have been blown away by it! It almost is "The Best PC Music Game"... with the fantastic themes that people have obviously put as LOT of time into as well... its like a dream come true However, it desperately needs the vocals to make it complete though, and to make it THE BEST PC MUSIC GAME! The last mention of its development seems to be February 2014, so nearly a year ago... any updates? Or perhaps you'd consider going Open Source so the community can add vocals support? Honestly this game is amazing! The lack of vocals is stopping it from being my one and only music game on the PC though At least Performous does a decent job for now Anyways, well done on the job so far. Thanks

From what I can remember, in order for vocals to come to Phase Shift the devs need to rework the entire audio pipeline, which is quite the task for an indie dev. Plus, there's graphics to be made, a UI, testing... there's a lot of stuff.

It does indeed sound like a lot of work. In all fairness this looks like the project has ground to a halt, which is a real shame. It would be brilliant if they released the source code, because the Open Source community could rally around and help finish off all the outstanding feature requests This is such an impressive piece of work already, would be a shame if it never got to realise its full potential.

Like they did for FoF and FoFiX? It is true that FoFiX really went downhill, however there has been no word from the developers (at least that I know of) for a year now. If they are still working on the game, they would have given an update by now. If they have stopped, then the only way for this to move forward is for it to go open source or for someone to take over. If they are working on it, even if they don't make the project open source, they can make it partially open source or release a modding API. I love games that are modular and community based. But seriously, are the developers alive?

I would think so. Either that or I've been communicating with a ghost in the past months.

You're both wrong. They're releasing beta versions to paying subscribers of the project.

You're both wrong. They're releasing beta versions to paying subscribers of the project. If you double check yourself, you'll see that you've made a contradictory statement based on the facts available in this thread. *rolls d20* *you get a 1* Instead of be insulting and repulsive, you gently complement the contributors of this thread on how good their hair looks today.

You guys either have a comprehension issue or are being purposely difficult. He asked if they were alive. I said I thought so. Then what followed was obvious sarcasm because I've been communicating with David over the last several months and he's provided me with help and sample source code for a few of my own projects.
