Again, I do not disagree with you. I just don't see the logic. Hell, if I wanted to, I could make a chart that forced open notes with the Japanese symbol "No" (の). That's technically not a letter, and it's certainly not a number. But that would have a greater possibility and potential for breaking the .Chart, than any Latin letter, or Arabic numeral.

The reason is that in many programming languages, when reading text from a file, it has to be converted to a number before it can be used as such. Attempting to convert a non numerical set of characters to a number would result in an error. As for your example, that character would require the entire file to be in a multi-byte or Unicode format encoding. The point is to maintain backwards compatibility where it's reasonably doable, and certainly not to try to break things on purpose.

Agreed. I suppose I'll wait it out, and see what comes of GH3+. Likely, open notes may never exist, as they would need a new file to be created for them, anyway. Though, on the other hand, since GH:WT has a PC audience, they may steal the code from there. I don't know, to be certain; but they really should get a move on, if they want it done by the end of the year, if not sooner.

I'll do some asking around, and see what's going on. I'm not settling for N 8 #, though. I'll fight that, for as long as it's not done. I don't think you're going to have much say in it, dude. (This was mostly just so I could bring this to his attention if he wasn't already aware, and it was already brought up in this thread so I figured I'd just mention it here)

That actually works for making charts, and I know I could fix it up to add in everything they want, as well as everything I want.

Logic isn't perfect yet, but it's coming together. This is what I mean. Same chart as I attached before. Also, the same thing happened with the part I did before as well. So I was going through a chart with the new hotfix just kinda lookin through just because, and I saw something that I'm pretty sure isn't supposed to happen... This is the entire last 4 trips followed by the 4 strums in the chart file Any idea why this is happening? Here's the chart file if you wanna take a look: Soulless 4 Source Chart.chart (664.93 KB)

Oh, did you mean you did already? I was under the assumption you said you fixed it and was going to release another hot fix.
Cause both of those had occurred under 2-3-16
