Apparently that's a new thing in EOF, but how does it work? What does it do? Is it now possible to properly add 7/8 time signatures?

EOF has new time signature handling that is enabled by default for new charts and can be manually enabled for existing charts by going to Song Properties and checking the "Use accurate time signatures" option. If accurate time signature handling is enabled for the active project, the "Beat>Time signature>Convert" function will allow you to define a time signature for the selected beat and have EOF calculate the appropriate tempos for affected beats to allow them to keep their existing positions. This function is meant to help authors update existing charts that have wild tempo changes to more properly use time signature changes instead.
I'm going to be working on putting together another release candidate that has the last 14 months' worth of changes and then the documentation will have descriptions for these new functions.

Ah I see. But it's not possible yet to, say, change the time signature to 7/8 for just one measure?

There's no reason that wouldn't work.

Ohhhh wait yeah never mind. Simply the "custom" buttom works now for that stuff, without resorting to crazy BPMs. Cool.c:
