I was wondering if there is anyway to cut songs shorter in editor on fire without messing up the tempo mapping?

EOF does not offer a way to remove portions of the audio. You'll have to do that in another program.
If you remove audio from the end of the chart, not much else has to be done. If you removed audio that had authored notes, just delete those from the end of the project in EOF.
If you remove audio from the beginning of the chart, it will matter whether or not you removed audio that was part of the chart (after the first beat). If not, all you have to do is re-sync the first beat marker (click and drag or manually set the "delay" value in Song>Properties). If you did remove audio that was part of the chart, you will need to remove the relevant portion of the chart as well. The easiest way to do this would be to identify how many beats from the beginning of the project no longer can be kept and use "Beat>Push offset up" to remove them, and then sync what is now the first beat marker to the beginning of the shortened song.
