Yeah I'm new to this program and I wanted to know what the recommend guitar controller or the guitar that has been used the most. Im thinking of getting a rock band guitar, but I don't know if that's a good idea or not.

Any wireless PlayStation 3 guitar would be recommended, because of it being USB. However, Xbox 360 guitars are recommended by some because they can actually use the tilt censor. It's a hard decision to make, I know, but the simplest way for you to decide is if you have a console, and a Guitar Hero/Rock Band game for it.

I prefer xbox 360 controllers. I have guitar, drums and gamepad, which Phase shift natively support and recognize. The only disadvantage in my opinion is that you should buy microsoft's wireless gaming receiver (or to disassemble and use the receiver from broken x360 console)

I feel I haven't said enough great stuff about Xbox Xplorers. They're cheap, easy to fix, and (almost) indestructible. They are the BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK when it comes to guitar peripherals. You can't buy them new anymore (unless you want to shell out $200+), but there are plenty at second hand shops and on ebay. Aim for $20 in excellent condition.
Wii instruments with wireless dongles (just like the PS3) also work well.
