Over the past few days we have all been discussing the problems with the new Guitar Hero Live control scheme. There are many issues but the idea of a 2 string controller is quite interesting and we were hoping to have a constructive discussion about the possibility of adding a less limited version of this to Phase Shift. For now we'll call the 2 modes Guitar Advanced and Bass Advanced. Right now our thoughts are to add support for a 5 fret, 2 stringed control scheme and test out how it feels. Obviously there isn't any 5 fret 2 stringed guitars out there but the RB3 Pro guitar should be fine and also the PC keyboard will accommodate this. It also makes sense to allow for 3 lane charts and controllers also and the potential auto wrapping of normal 5 lane basic guitar charts to work with the GH live controllers. Right now we are only just messing around but if anyone has any suggestions please let us know. As we develop the standard for this I'll update the Song Standard Advancements Thread and post beta's for our backers for test. Thanks David

EOF should be able to support this without many changes, since it supports a sixth lane in the editor to represent an open strum. Supporting six lanes AND open strum at the same time would take some more work though, so let me know if that's something that would be needed.

Well, this should be fun! I'll be looking forward to the developments in the future.
I have a Pro Guitar at my disposal, so if the three of you (rayne especially, I've been meaning to get back into some charting) feel like you need a outside party for play testing, feel free to PM me.
