Reposting this over here as it seems it would belong here more.
Is there any way to make Adv. Drums and 5 Lane Drums compatible?
What I mean, for example, is a chart that can have 5 lane drums and adv. drums both work properly. As it is currently, only one at a time will work correctly. When you chart 5 lanes, you can still mark cymbals, but when you go into adv., the cymbal that the orange is set to go to (green by default, blue with a .ini tag added) has no notes.
Perhaps a way to do this is depending on whether or not the .ini tag is present and set to true, then the orange will automatically be a cymbal of the one that it's set to go to as that is what the orange drum lane is usually for?

There really isn't a good solution for this. In retrospect I should have given 5 lanes a full MIDI track but there were some legacy charts in the old days and we didn't want to complicate things. In general if I remember correctly Phase shift handles the drums as follows: CHARTED AS | 4 LANE RESULT | 5 LANE RESULT | 7 LANE RESULT | 4 LANE | NO CHANGE
| NO CHANGE | NO CHANGE | 5 LANE
| Orange Moved To Green or Orange Per song.ini | NO CHANGE | Orange moved to Green Cymbal | 7 LANE
| All cymbals Moved to TOMS | Yellow/Blue cymbals Moved to TOMS. Green Cymbal Moved To Orange | NO CHANGE |
Thanks David

What I have noticed is that blue notes are treated as blue toms, orange is treated as green cymbal, and yellow is yellow cymbal. Now, when playing four lane drum setup on five lane gameplay, all green notes are orange, or green cymbals.
How I'd change this:
Seven to Five Lane: Yellow Toms are converted to Blue Toms; Blue Cymbals become Yellow Cymbals Four to Five Lanes: Recognize the pro note annotation; have Yellow, Blue and Green notes be scanned for sound type (i.e. is it Tom, or Cymbal?) and adjust the type appropriately, as a seven lane conversion.
