So I thought since a lot of people play this, you could make a port for it for steam, and possibly have the "DLC" be the the songs and themes. I just think that you could do that and maybe it would be more popular. Obv you would probably have to attempt to get it greenlit, but theres a lot of us who play this, and maybe we would be able to do it? I just think it would be cool.

If that route were taken, it would mean the end of customs, also, the greenlight community doesn't take highly to clones (even though I argue that its not a clone, it will still be marked as one)

while it would be one of the better options to take there are a lot of extra complications involved with doing that, it would add a lot of extra work that im not sure we even have time to deal with at the moment, but even if we did greenlight has a £70 fee which is just too high, we already hit our limit of how much we can fund this project with things like the online servers being a constant drain etc

Desura is always an option too. They accept free games and would strengthen the fan base. I know the game is on indiedb, so it's only a matter of a few clicks to submit it for review.

i would love to see phase shift on steam. i don't understand why being on steam would stop customs. i think we could just pass a hat around to take up a collection for green light if you wanted.
i personally have little interest in online servers but i know others like them. i think it would be good to charge maybe 5 dollars for the steam port. that should solve the problem with server funding.

If it was on steam it would have to not promote the use of copyrighted songs. Now I'm not saying that that's what is being done, but it would be putting Phase Shift on the same storefront as Rocksmith and other major music game companies. Let that sort of sink in. As for desura I fully support that, as the stuff on there is more indie, and it doesn't require a stupid greenlight fee and process.

Besides, then they'd have to officially license the music that appears in the download of Phase Shift, if they began charging for it, legalities and all...
