I was charting a song in EoF when I marked a section as a solo phrase. When I test it in PS it comes out as a star power phrase. How do I add solo sections?

I never had this problem, are you using the last beta version of EOF ?

Maybe this has to do with a backwards compatibility issue for Frets on Fire charts? FoFiX's developers never got around to fixing some things so it was left with the limitation where if a chart didn't have at least two star power sections, the game figured the chart was following Guitar Hero authoring standards instead, causing any solo sections in the chart to be treated as star power.
EOF writes a "multiplier_note = 116" tag in the INI file that it supposed to let Phase Shift know how to interpret solo phrases, do you see this in your chart's song.ini file? If so, this may be a bug with the game. They may want you to submit the chart files for testing.

added "multiplier_note = 116" to the ini and the solo worked. Weird, i'm using EoF 1.71. I'm not sure if that's the latest version but it's the one I download like a couple weeks ago.

Glad this got sorted out. This INI file entry was added to EOF a couple months after the 1.71 release.
