Helloooo Rayne! ;D I was curious if its possible to have EOF import these Power GiG midi files(PM'd it). If you take a look at it, they contain the PRO modes as well(perhaps have EOF import those into RB3 PRO compatible, idk). Not sure how the games uses it though. Each difficulty is in its own track, Im thinking moving the notes around so they are in the proper positions(RB standard) should do it. Not entirely sure how difficult it would be to pull it off though. Thoughts?

The vocal format is almost exactly the same as Rock Band's, only the line breaks are defined by lyrics of "\r" (carriage return ASCII character) and pitch shifts are "*" lyrics instead of "+".
The guitar track seems pretty simple: Note 62: Lane 1 (green) Note 64: Lane 2 (red) Note 65: Lane 3 (yellow) Note 67: Lane 4 (blue) Note 69: Lane 5 (orange) Other than that, it seems there are five difficulty levels per instrument. And there are program change and controller MIDI events every once in a while, I have no idea what those would be for.
I didn't look at the drum track much, but I doubt it's complicated. I couldn't find a Youtube video of the supplied song's "chord mode", so I couldn't really determine where the MIDI has this notation in it. Based on what I've seen though, I doubt the small scattered number of single notes and two string guitar chords in this game's charts will be very useful for pro guitar authoring.
So while it can be done, I wonder if there's enough demand to make Power Gig import worth the effort? Are all the charts and their audio even available?

Actually Rayne, there are 6 difficulty levels, the file I sent you did not contain the "master" level. Perhaps that will give more insight to the PRO notations(chord mode) or not. Charts are available(just need to sort them out from the extraction process "Data 00098.mid, Data 00099.mid, Data 00100.mid...etc etc"), the audio is available, I might consider an alternative though looking into that now.

Do some of the songs in the game not have a master level then, or was the MIDI file just missing some things?

I'm not sure, i have not gone through sorting them out just yet. I'll let you know how it turns out when i get to doing that.

Alright Rayne, I sussed it out! Was a right pain in the ass. xD Power GiGs Odd midi SetupAs you can see, not every song has a "Master" chart/difficulty. ::EDiT:: Oh ok, yeah, i don't think the Master is usable, it appears to have a 6fret configuration.

Oh ok, yeah, i don't think the Master is usable, it appears to have a 6fret configuration. And you'd probably wonder who in the world would play PS with the SixString controller.

I don't imagine any of the bass parts have a master mode then? I suppose if it means 71 more charts, I could add this to my to-do list. I'll have to come up with a good way to alter MIDI import to handle this.

That's the messed up part to this game. There is no Bass Guitar part.

Any luck with extracting more of the charts, or perhaps matching audio?

6 months later....
OK! Thanks to Rayne we are gonna get this done!
David, I was converting Rise Against(with EOFs latest addition/conversion of PG charts), and noticed some notes were missing. I then loaded the midi file into Reaper for a closer look, and then I realized the notation was there(Note 60). I was thinking of just changing the location of the note to that of the Note 62: Lane 1 (green). However, after watching a couple YT videos it seems PG has a open note strum....and those notes(60) were it(open notes).
tldr; Perhaps Phase Shift can utilize a open note guitar strum?

Phase Shift does have open notes. EOF might just need to convert them to the normal standard we've been using.
