Yes, but I'd still need to handle them and truncate them if possible.

With this b40 version, whenever I convert a song into OGG format, the file is converted but EOF crashes in the following second. Then, I open it again, and everything works well with the converted file.
OS : Windows 8 (lol) PC Specs : Intel Core i5 @ 3.3GHz, 8GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5750

I don't know if EoF supports European characters yet, but when I import a GH chart file containing one, it converts a sung note into a spoken one. "na-ïve" Good news: NewCreature was able to add logic so that 8-bit ASCII characters are read correctly, this takes care of the word naïve, but I'm pretty sure it would take more changes for any songs that actually use Unicode to be displayed correctly.

Hi, guys.
The first release candidate is posted at the FoF forum and should be on this site shortly. Please check out the new pro guitar tutorial to see if you find any mistakes or areas for improvement. Also test anything else you can think of and let me know if something doesn't work correctly or otherwise as documented. If no bug fixes or minor changes are urgently needed during the next few weeks, this release will become the 1.8 stable release.

Same specs as reply #76 I tried to import Orphanage's GP tab in .gp5 format.

Can you provide that file? That error basically means a note had an invalid length (Guitar Pro supposedly only supports lengths of 1 whole note, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 or 1/64).

Regarding Gyoo's Guitar Pro file, it turned out that it was corrupt. Guitar Pro wouldn't open it, but oddly enough Tux Guitar did and was able to re-save it to a file that worked for Guitar Pro and EOF.
That said, a new release candidate has been posted. Please test stuff out and let me know if you find any bugs.

Hi, folks. A new release candidate is being posted. Most of the changes revolved around Rocksmith custom chart authoring, but lots of other things were also improved. Give it a look and let me know if you find any issues.

Hi, folks. A new release candidate is being posted and will be in the download section soon. Most of the changes are Rocksmith centric, but the list of things to do to finish that out (and complete the 1.8 release) is getting closer.

Hi, folks. A new release candidate is being posted and will be in the download section soon, or you can get it on the FoF forum right now if you like. Tons of changes in this version including a spectrogram feature that was programmed by 5of0 from the FoF forum. Hopefully the final 1.8 release is getting close, I've been working mostly on pro guitar stuff for the past couple years, and it's past time to work on vocal and pro keys authoring features Let me know if you guys find anything that needs to be fixed immediately.

Really cool feature that you can now choose your window width !
Also, the new note paste feature will take me some time to understand, since I was really used to the old technique XD
Last thing, I don't really understand the spectrogram ._.

It's like a waveform graph on steroids, but since one of the axises on the graph is frequency, it might make it easier to identify certain instruments. About the paste, it's similar to how it was before, but it doesn't force the pasted notes to begin at the start of the beat the seek position is in, you can now paste starting from anywhere.
