You will get best results if you install it into a fresh unmodified copy of Phase Shift. Then copy and replace all the files/folders and set the theme in game as Tribal Shift.
Hopefully in the future I will be able to make the theme so all the files are in the "Themes" directory itself. At this time full skinning for that isn't supported so we have to edit the actual game files.
Let me know if that solves your problem!

I found a bug and am not sure if it is related to the mod, or the game itself. When you extract all the files over the top of everything in the ROOT folder of PS, and set the theme to "Tribal Shift" the background for the menu's does not show up and becomes black.
Also the game crashes at times. After re-copying it a few times, clearing the "configuration.ini" and renaming the "Tribal Shift" theme folder to "Default" I eventually got it to work.
Can anybody confirm this? I am not sure if this is just a fluke that a friend and I ran into or if there is an error in this theme.
Thank you much Slayer

If you could fix it, that would be amazing. One thing - could you make HOPO notes a bit more obvious? As they are, it's a little hard to tell if a note can be hammered-on or not. Perhaps making normal notes darker and HOPOs brighter would help.

Hi, I just registered here! I've been trying to get this theme working for about a week, but haven't bothered asking about it 'cause I kinda thought I was just being dumb. However, the problem I had was what you said, copying the folders into the root of a fresh PS folder gave me black backgrounds and crashes.
Lots of experimenting on deleting configs, recopying multiple times, renaming but it didn't work at all. I got it working by copying all of the ini files from default, to Tribal Shift theme (except menu_main). Haven't done much testing there after, but I hope this helps some people!

i haven't had any problems with the original release... all i did was replace all the old files with the new ones and everything worked fine (although i think i only used the "Data" folder)

playmp1: That was something that was undecided if they needed to be enhanced more (HOPO notes). I will probably make them a very light tint of each color. Expect it in the next release. As far as that bug I will have to do some digging and see what happened. The v1.0 release didn't have it but the v1.1 does. The only thing changed between the 2 versions were a couple images for the theme, nothing involving coding, or data files. So this could be a bit of a brain stormer. But I added and replaced files into the RAR which may be the issue, I will try on a fresh install copying the files from my RAW folder, then repackage if needed. If all comes to all I will just repackage it with the game client that I have working with it, so nobody has to try and get it to work. Just a thought.. but I wanna try and keep the package smaller. (Super slow upload speed on my internet.) Thanks much for the input everybody. Anything helps as this is my first theme for anything! Cheers Slayer

this isn't a change to the theme system specifically but as you were after details on changes ahead of time this is something to consider, the song text is now displayed the main menu, its just plain floating text so you may want to do something with it to make it more interesting for our theme i've just added a frame and a spinning disc and text, as its all in the theme system its all optional and you can do whatever, so its something you may want to think about, heres a pic to give you an idea of what we've done

Wonderful, I love it! With the bugs in the my theme at the moment I might end up re-creating it (patience grasshopper!), which would give me time to add changes for that. Though I am thinking its related to only having some of the folders compared to the "Default" theme folder. Along with only one of the menu.ini's packaged. Haven't had a chance to test that theory out yet as I was out canoeing and camping Friday through today (Saturday), then tomorrow an old friend is coming over on Sunday to hang out and play some Phase Shift. So well see what happens this week. freddybix: The configuration.ini shouldn't be the cause. That is just saving your settings and shouldn't ever have to be modified by hand (as far as I know of). I just deleted it cause it when I change it to the "Tribal Shift" theme, the backgrounds and text go missing so I cant change it back to the "Default" theme. Deleting it simply resets the settings. P.S. Is there a way I could get the beta with the new menu song info for the background song player? Thanks Slayer

Just uploaded and posted the newest version (1.2). In attempt to fix the known bug. I wasn't able to replicate it on my computers here but if you have any trouble getting it to work, please let me know.
To install the theme, please back up your Phase Shift installation directory fully, including music if your music is in the Phase Shift directory.
Then simply copy over all the files into the root folder for Phase Shift replacing all files and folders.
Do not delete any files as this will break the game!
Load Phase Shift then in the options select the Tribal Shift theme.
Thanks Slayer

Due to the bugs and being quite unhappy with the theme I will no longer provide updates. Although I will try and start a new theme package. Feel free to use any part of my theme but please give all credits to whom it belongs and where from!
Hope to release a new, fresher and better theme sometime in the future.
Thanks, Slayer

got the theme working, but not the pictures of the instruments for some reason on a fresh install I had to rename the note files to get them to work. Theme needs an update unless you let it die. In which case you should send it to the graveyard.

Unfortunately that was one of the bugs that I came across. It worked perfectly on the computer that I made the theme on but any other computer the theme broke. I triple checked to make sure every file I changed was in the RAR, plus making sure the file structure was correct.
I haven't touched the theme since before the recent note naming changes, so I didn't get around to fixing that either.
Hard telling, I might let it die, but I might also try to revive it and get the bugs worked out. Will be a while before I know, as I am working on a new, and better theme currently.
