Well, I uninstalled my old version, rebooted, and installed the latest releases of both packs and now no video shows at all, so that's great.
edit: oh and of course I can play the actual .avi files just fine.
edit2: I also tried the tweak to the ffdshow settings to make sure phase_shift.exe uses it, both in the 32 and 64 bit config tools, separately and at the same time. No improvement at all.

hmm.. well, if your willing I can do a remote desktop on you and see if I can get it working that way, last time someone I helped had video problems it was because they installed k-lite wrong (somehow..) |

since I still had the executables, I uninstalled/reinstalled k lite again, this time using defaults for everything and now phase shift just crashes when it gets to the menu.
Looks like the microsoft AVI splitter is broken in my system. The game crashes when using the microsoft splitter (the default) but the video isn't shown when using LAV or Haali.

hmm, even if ms avi splitter is broken, you telling PS to use LAV or haali should work regardless..

I just reinstalled windows, which I was planning on doing soon anyway, and it still crashes on startup with the menu video enabled. I've installed k-lite again as well, leaving everything at default.
Maybe it's a problem with the latest codec packs. I'll try uninstalling k lite and installing cccp instead, just to be sure
looks like I have the same issue as before. With the CCCP or using Lav or Haali, the menu video doesn't play at all, and when using the ms avi splitter it crashes. The same goes for the song videos

just a heads up, dont install any of my themes in phase shift 1.12, you will run into several bugs and glitches, wait for them to get updated.

New version doesn't have bar with counter (how many times song was played), percentage (score) and length ;/
I see that percentage and length is shown i different place, but it takes some time to reveal length of song..
For me this bar was very usefull..
Could it be restored?
