Hello Everyone,
This is such a great forum. Everyone is so helpful and never gives an answer like: "We cant do that, or not supported"
Really Really loving this game.
I have always enjoyed 5 lane drum charts. Feedback is by far my favorite editor and I will continue using it for making charts. I know that I need a midi editor to edit for 5 lane charts.
My process would be to create the majority of the chart in feedback then import that into the midi editor and add in the orange notes.
Could anybody suggest a great free midi editor that is capable of this process.
Thanks

I'd recommend EOF (Editor on Fire). You can directly import your Feedback .chart file to add pro drums or any other features you like and just re-save the chart to get an updated MIDI.

But I dont think it supports 5 lane drum editing. I know it supports pro drum charts and I will definitly use it for that. but I need a midi editor for 5 lane drum charts.

Do you mean 5 lanes in addition to the bass pedal?

It doesn't currently, I don't know how 5 lane drum charts are different from 4 lane, does anybody have any information on it? If it's easy to implement, I could probably have it in the next stable release of EOF.

The readme has these details on the 5 lane charting:
To make use of the 5 Lane Drum Support use these keys
DRUM_EASY_ORANGE (0x41) (65) DRUM_MEDIUM_ORANGE (0x4D) (77) DRUM_HARD_ORANGE (0x59) (89) DRUM_EXPERT_ORANGE (0x65) (101)
(One note up from the green which should be an F)

Looks easy enough to me. I'll see if I can get it working for my next beta release (hopefully today).

EOF can allow you to author those: The biggest limitation with "crazy" notes is that any two gems that start at the same position are merged into the same "chord" and cannot have individual lengths. This is a limitation, but it will be fixed at some point because it's needed for keys and pro keys support.

Wow it really is incredible how helpful this forum is. You all focus on innovation and progress. Is this new beta of EOF available to download now and what version number is it?
