I have made a tool for creating careers for Phase Shift. It is based on sourceforge: sourceforge.net/projects/pscareercreator/There is a download archive, simply unpack it somewhere and run program. Features: 1) All is made with GUI - no file editing. 2) When exported to PS, there is no paths only hashes, so songs, that you use, should be simply at you game's songs folder (no matter, where exactly) 3) Ability to auto set stars to unlock count for every tier, based on average stars per song number. 4) Career can be saved in own format and than opened for next editing. 5) If you made tiers for one instrument, you can copy them to another instrument easily with "Duplicate" function. Using: 1) install 2) main -> new career 3) enter Title, Comment, set Label file 4) add instrument 5) add tiers (tiers in list can be rearranged using drag'n'drop) 6) load songs to free songs from any folder (will scan all included folders for songs) 7) set tier title, stars to unlock, drag'n'drop songs from free songs to tier song list. Songs in tier list can be rearranged with drag'n'drop. 8) add more tiers, instruments same way 9) export career to phase shift, when asked, select careers directory of PS. PS: it is first release, so if you find bug or have ideas how to improve this tool, write about it here or at sourceforge project page. PS PS: IT IS FIRST release, so maybe some more libs were need to be packaged, say me if PSCareerCreator don't want to start complaining missing dlls.

3rd update: you can redownload or simply create "platforms" folder in app-folder and put qwindows and qminimal to "platforms"

Well, it works now, which is good.
It works quite well actually. Simple. A lot easier than editing text files to make the career like I was doing.
If I might make a suggestion. Have it check for what songs you've already used in the current Career that you're working on. And have an option you can turn on or off, to hide songs you've already used. It'd help to make sure you use all the songs and don't miss any.

Great work, dener! I found something weird. If you create drums career in example and you include a song that does not have drum part it will give you 6 stars automatically when played (you have 0 points, but 6 stars). I already asked David to fix this for phase shift, but you can fix it too for your tool if you want.
Thanks, djlastnight

Thanks, djlastnight In order to fix it he will have to add too much useless code to read the .midi file and check if there's a drum part. Also another way is to read the .ini for difficulty=-1 but still this is not accurate. So the best solution would be for david to ignore the songs, or of course as you know there's no drum part, don't add this song in the career then!!!

This is a pain ingame to handle. Because if you've set a rank target for the next tier then that value might not be attainable with a missing song. Really you should just make your career correctly.

Would be neat if this could scan a folder and automatically add any folder with "1. " to the tier_0.ini, all songs with "2. " to the tier_1.ini, and so forth.
