slightly more on topic, if this seems to do the job for most people i can link this on the download page, maybe with a slightly streamlined quick guide on how to use it with some pictures have u tried connecting to your own server using your internal ip yet as it would be good to know if this is an issue or not yea, it just dont connect, seems like an odd issue lol. also, I can add pics if needed Edit: actually, when you click the "whats my IP?" button, did that give the external IP or internal IP?

You could always use good old 127.0.0.1 instead (the IP address equivalent of the "localhost" DNS name).

When I set this up and get to the "use" part, it lags out for 30 seconds and then says The port mapping could not be edited. Could not add port mapping: Unable to receive a response from the UPNP device.
Any idea wtf this means?

Either your router doesn't support UPnP or it's disabled.

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) supports peer-to-peer Plug and Play functionality for network devices.
Enable UPnP :
I have it turned on. Doesn't matter. I also have WAN PING with the IP of my friend enabled, and I even turned off my firewall. This is a bad game issue, not a router issue. =/
