I would love to see vocals on this game. The game is really good, but it needs vocals.

I'd like to see a mode similar to Rock Band Blitz. It might be difficult to add at this point, since it's so wildly different than what's already there, and custom charts would have to be made specifically for a blitz mode, but I think it'd be really fun.

RB:Blitz automatically down-charts everything to two-gem tracks, there shouldn't be a reason to have to manually do it for customs.

rbb isn't even the same kind of game, falls way outside of what ps is about

Blitz is definitely more like Amplitude and Frequency, which were interesting in their own way.

what i find interesting about blitz, is that a)it uses the same charting standar RB/PS already supports and b)its mean to be played with gamepads, not plastic intruments, which might atract a bigger audience, and that is always a good thing.
Im not saying PS should add a blatant copy of blitz mode with silly powerups, but it would be nice to have an arcade-ish gamemode that could be played with gamepads/keyboard following the idea that it would be based on the already existent charts.

I do agree the fact that such a thing would allow a much broader audience, I get that its different then the original games idea, but i do agree that a mini games setup could be quite fun

mini games are simple things that can be knocked out easily for fun and gameplay modes are things that fit logically with the direction of the project, this doesn't fall into either of those categories, it is a separate game
ps is a dexterity focused multiplayer instrument / peripheral game, blitz is casual and strategy focused single player game, if we did want to step into that area it would be a separate game, but personally i think it would be weird to just go around making similar types of games to whatever harmonix does, we made ps as we had our own ideas on how we wanted to make a rhythm game, to try and develop the genre further in the areas we felt were important, other similar games simply did not do what we wanted
im sure blitz is something people want, but ps isn't the place for it, and as far as opening to a new audience, thats what project 2 is for

This might be a stupid question, but why is vocal support so hard to add? Is it because of the wide range of voices (I mean that unlike guitars or drum which only have a definite number of "sounds", voices have a wider range)?

Pitch detection is a bitch and to make it low latency you need to really know what you are doing. It would take me a month to research good methods and even longer working out the bugs. Other project have the luxuary of using open source code for a basis. We can't do that so we are having to do all our science from scratch. No hand holding. . .

Some open source libraries will allow you to license their use for a closed-source project. If that's an option you guys are able to consider, I'm sure some of us would be willing to pitch in some money.

Our donation record would say otherwise.

If you say you are considering library X with a cost of Y, that makes things different. Vocals are the most requested feature to be added based on this poll. Changing from an uncertainty of "if it happens" to "it will happen if costs are met" would arguably influence donations in your favor.

I don't want to create new topics, but I have 2 small ideas 1. Possibility to end song after last note of active track (there are song, when e.g. guitar track ends 1 minute before rest of song, and you have to wait this one minute for result :] ) - I don't know if this is possible to do, but if it is, it would be nice ;p 2. Possibility to quit some profile (sometimes some controller will be not used anymore, it would be nice to turn off some, I had situation, when I have 7 guitar controllers+drum kit, in one moment max 4 were used, but with every profile active there was some chaos :] )
