Ok, I am only getting back into these kind of games recently, and only gave a fairly cursory glance at phase shift when I decided to try and pick drums up again after issues with my hands popped up, also, because of how long the suggestion thing is, 21 pages, and me not really knowing how to word my ideas in a way to know if they have been asked or not, I decided to put them all here
Ok, first thing, on load the game loads the songs, this is fairly fast but on the other hand clone hero does it near instantly, would it be possible to have the game start up with a pre known locations for songs and loading that, with an option to update that list only when you added a song?
On the note of songs, would it be possible to have the songs as a list rather than then the folders? it would be nice to see songs themselves rather than dig through folders to find them, though this may be a good way to organize them if I only had the songs set up for this game.
On that note of songs, when I started getting songs specifically for the game rather than pointing the game at my clone hero song directory, I had quite a few crashing problems. would it be possible to have the game do what clone hero does where it looks though the songs, and tells you directories and why files failed in a list?
now, I fired up rockband 3 so I could look at my lists and how far I got in playing drums, but with that said, I also wanted to see how far I got in other instruments as well, I don't know how feasible this is, but would there be a way to show each setting on the main song window? I personally have a 4k monitor and I have the game playing windowed at 2560x1600, with the free build (I think that's what I have) I have, you could easily but 4 or so rows of dots to the right of songs, possibly even fit their scores. I know this would be a fairly niche feature at the moment, and may not be useful to everyone, but imagine this, you are playing on medium, you are getting 80 or so %, and this is enough to beat out your easy score, but on expert you are only getting around 50%, and you haven't even tried expert or expert + you could see from the song selection where you are and how you are doing, something that rockband doesn't do well. barring this, would it be possible to have a side menu that shows this kind of info for your current instrument? preferably something simple to access, rockband 3 has me needing to go 3 menus deep to really see these stats.
looking at the official feedback suggestion thread, I noticed this one
'Automatic PS activation'
Now I have only played this game on drums, and after 8 years of inactivity I have crapped most of my skill I use to have away, but that activation... whenever I see it come, it messes up my rhythm. i'm not sure if this is something I will get use to in time, but I do have an idea that would work for non pro kits and even then may work. when I played everquest, there was a quest that had you hitting a stupid number of buttons in relatively quick succession, and doing that accurately while also moving around and looking around in the game... that just isn't happening for me, so I mapped my controllers sticks to the buttons I had to hit and stated playing with my feet. this worked out very well. would it be possible to have an alternate activation method that isn't part of the songs pattern? granted this may just apply to drums, and I have no idea if its just my lack of skill or if its going to be an issue going forward for me.
so another thing I ran into were a few songs that don't have parts for instruments for a good minute or two, now while I can appreciate the lack of playing if I was multiplayer, of if it was mid song, but at the beginning? could there be a way to skip all the waiting and get right to where playing starts? possibly a way to user define what parts are skipped in songs, just for the sake of brevity, possibly when a song that has these kinds of skips is selected you can choose to play with the skips or without.
another thing that clone hero has that I don't necessarily like is when it starts up, it has a random song, but when I go to choose songs, its always the exact same one at the top, this gets annoying, would it be possible to start you at random songs? personally, this would be nice to have till I either type in or get to the sorting method I want, if only for the sake of variety.
now, onto the suggested mode. I don't know how feasible this is, but its a rhythm game and this one is trying to be all encompassing so I thought why not bring it up. frequency, amplitude, and rock band unplugged for psp
I dont know how feasible this one would be or if anyone is willing but I can't tell you how much I love this style of game.
I think that's about it, thanks to anyone who read this all the way though anr I can't wait to toss money at you when you launch on steam.
