Can't wait till even the early access will be available. Been years since i enjoyed the game... Will there be a chance to have at least a big part of our custom songs in the Steam Version?

So a bit of a progress update.
We have been working hard to get a bunch of things worked out for the early access launch, what has become clear is the amount of work needed to get the release suitable for public is taking longer than we had hoped, but we are doing what we can to get everything ready.
So while this is going on we decided to get the ball rolling and run a limited 'pre' Early Access beta. So as an extra bonus, all the project backers that we announced would be given a free copy of the Steam release (as outlined in the first post) can gain access to this beta.
It should be clear anyone doing this should expect the beta builds to be buggy, so only opt in if you are confident with running unsupported / experimental builds that will be undergoing various changes.
If you are a backer interested in checking out the beta then just send me a PM and we'll sort out getting keys over to people.

it pains me to say it for such a great game but
take.your.time
i dont care if the update and path to steam takes years. just do it right. not quick.
devs pushing stuff out before they're ready is rampant. isnt somethin you wanna do

Okay, few features I really miss: - multiple keyboards support - self-contained game (not requiring DX, using max dotnet 3.5 to run on all machines) - six-fret being individual instrument -> six and five fret guitars playing side by side Far stretched ideas: - real guitar and bass support with rocksmith cable (would fit nicely, because you can learn drums and keys already) - kinect support? (maybe something like dance, also, air guitar and air drums!) - bongocat live theme!
Take your time with steam release, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad". However, I hope the hardware requirements wont be much higher, I have already problems on some of my weaker PCs.

could we maybe get a api to write our own plugins for phase shift this would open it up to other devs but keep all inside code private. with this if done the right way a dev could add new things . like new themeing stuff like new outputs like for a rock band theme a new band meter. or vocals, dj hero support, kinect dance support. ingame eof plugin etc

Progress update on the beta
We expected to take about a week from the original beta announcement, give us some time to get everything setup and get some of the current build issues smoothed out, I can say it feels like we are pretty close now, should be able to get the keys out soon
We had a few requests about access to the beta outside of the backer rewards, so we have looked into how we could handle this and it seems we can open things up a bit further without any major set backs. So just to clarify how this will work, there are backer reward keys that are the full game + beta access, single key for both, so don't lose this key, we won't be able to replace it.
The new keys are specifically beta keys that will grant access during the beta period. We will hand these out to key members of the community where it makes sense, ie people helping with preparing / charting songs, or people that will be helping with bug testings etc. So we have a handful of keys set aside for this now so this gives us a few more options to ensure anyone that needs access can get it going forward.

From the charting side its a little complicated, the keys we can hand out will be for people who are actively making updates to the songs, at the moment nothing has been happening on the song side as attempting to coordinate the song side becomes a pretty huge task and all focus recently has needed to go towards our beta milestone.
Right now I don't think we actually have that many songs to deal with so I need to find some time to start reaching out to people again, some people mentioned songs we might be able to use but never actually got anything sent over to us and I just haven't had a chance to chase anything up.
You can see in the first post some of the bands that are confirmed as on board for the Steam version. Short term its going to be about adding anything that is missing to what we already have, and then seeing what needs to be done to anything new we get.
As this will take some time, if you want to try jump the gun a bit, you can check out the current non steam release of PS and check all the included songs by the bands highlighted in green in the first post and if there is anything missing, difficulties, instruments etc then those are easy things we can get started on any time, beyond that it may take a little time to find the new content. Along with song suggestions if you know any suitable bands / songs etc.

So if it was missed, any backer pre 20th may, PM me your email and i'll send a key that gives access to the early beta + the full game when released.
Anything after the 20th, there are some early beta period keys available, but this is really on a case by case basis right now as we only have a limited amount of the beta keys, they are mostly set aside for contributors right now, charters, testers, etc. (these are beta period only, not the full game)
We'll be looking into if we can do a wider beta later down the line if we can find a good way to manage it.

I'm really glad to see this finally happen! I remember when everyone thought a steam release wasn't plausible! if I can find the time id certainly help get songs charted.

I've had a few PM's about what people may be able to help with on the charting side, I have done a quick review of where we are at with the current songs and posting the info here so people don't have to guess what we may need help with. I'll put this into the first post so it doesn't get lost.
Anything below (that isn't being worked on already) let me know if you would like to help out.
New songs
Even the trees - Progress Avenue (in progress) Wrong side of dawn - If I ever loved Wrong side of dawn - The Grinders Tale
Existing songs with parts missing
Songs missing real drums
Nightmare Lyre - Psychosis (remix) Freen in Green - Subterrain Steps
Songs missing dance
Nightmare Lyre - Psychosis (remix) Freen in Green - Subterrain Steps The Spin Wires - Girls Like You ashglen - Let Me In TRSOLP - Spur of the Moment
