Just my opinion of course, but I played real guitar and bass for years before games like rock band and guitar hero ever came along. Although rocksmith does obviously give some actual teaching in the way of showing real chords, licks and how to play songs... But I never imagined anyone considered Rock Band or Guitar Hero in the same realm as practice or teaching for a real instrument. The plastic guitar games are geared towards people who want to pretend they're playing their favorite songs or better yet together in a band. The pro guitar mode from rock band did try to bridge the gap there for people who wanted to learn real guitar, but even still I think it would be more of a tool for teaching essentially guitar tabs for songs. Which case you'd need to already be familiar with playing a real guitar before hand. But everybody has their own opinions and ways of learning things I guess. I respect your opinion and even agree with it when it comes to learning the guitar in these types of games with a plastic guitar. But your statement sadly lacks a HUGE thing : drums. You can literally learn to play drums with nothing at all but your feet and hands by simply air drumming. Rock Band allowed a countless number of players to be able to start playing on a real kit with some experience, with just having played a videogame beforehand. And I am one of them. Kyle Brownlee (Counterparts), my currently favourite drummer because of how THIGHT he plays, learned exactly this way. I honestly don't think he would be at that level without all the time he spent on this videogame. For those interested, here's him : - 10 years ago, playing RB2 : - now, playing real drums : And I thank Phase Shift so much for keeping this dream going. Especially after the disappointment of the RB4 PC crowdfunding. PS : It's d-day Can't wait to see Phase Shift hit my Steam library

One feature I always wished for, was that if you slow a song down (or up I guess) there would be no pitch change. Which makes it more bearable to practise songs slowly. Youtube and VLC do this when slowing down or up and it makes it listenable to a certain point (very slow it gets iffy though). There are probably already existing algos/moduls for this kinda stuff. I suppose they achieve that by inserting tiny pauses instead of just playing it back slower like a tape recorder would. Any consideration for this? Would really put Phase Shift over the top as a learning tool (e.g. practising tough drum parts more slowly without it sounding like a distorted mess). You can test the usefulness of this by watching drum charts on youtube with 0.5 or 0.75 speed (any slower and this probably won't work well anymore).

Very long time user of Phase Shift and was just wondering if it's possible to get an early access key for testing so I can pitch in and help out. I'm not much of a programmer so can't help that way but have tested a bunch of products and services and have written a tonne of reviews working with very big companies (don't worry not looking to review an unfinished product lol) so feel that I can really help in this phase, if you'll have me.
Let me know please. I'm really eager to assist in any way I can!!.

I just tried Riff VR which is a tonne of fun with my Oculus Rift. Just trying to figure out how to add my ps customs to it without having to redo my library one-by-one.
