Sweet, XML does look really basic.
Been looking at GHL code andsome of it looks basic but this looks more easy.
Anyway i'm guessing the end project is where it will let you preview it and move images?

djlastnight: just made an account to say THANK YOU for your fantastic theme tutorial! I have learned a ton from it, and have decided to start building a theme. I will definitely be using this editor. Are you taking suggestions for features it could have? One thing I have been struggling with is determining which .ini's to edit for a given screen. Your tutorial lists what each .ini file modifies, and has been extremely useful. Where I get lost is figuring out all of the .ini files which relate to a certain screen (for example, I have some text on the quickplay select a song screen which I can't figure out how to modify). Regardless, fantastic work, I am very grateful

I explained what every ini file is intended for in '1. Explaining inis' section: ... Ini files can be grouped in 3 groups a. Game inis- their name starts with game_*****.ini They are usable when song is played. b. Menu inis- their name starts with menu_*****.ini They are usable when navigating through menus (not playing a song). c. Special inis- with random names. ... About replace_ids, triggers, ids.. etc, you have to tweak theme system a bit and you will get the idea. Knowledge comes with practice.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that, I just find determining exactly where a particular image or text is in the .ini is difficult for me. It's no fault of your tutorial, I'm just new at this. I will keep practicing!

Use search option (ctrl+f) to find image by its path. For text, you can search for its id or language tag (english, french, italian, spanish), if this is what you meant.

auto comlete sounds like such a great feature, definitely down-load worthy thing as I absolutely love when the computer finishes tags for me when I only know the first part of the name. Maybe even you could add in a spell-checker so as to avoid embarrassing typos

I can't engage with dead line or something like this... Probably after 2-3 weeks I would release the first 'demo' build.
Here's the first video preview of the PS theme editor:
The project is WIP still.

I know duel monitors will more then likely gain from this
